No, never found anything worthwhile around Gabbs. Know there is good stuff around there, just never found anything myself I found worthwhile in the area.

Common opal is found throughout Nevada. I have found opal from all the way down by Searchlight to far Northern Nevada.  And I have found opalized wood in both Southern Nevada and Northern Nevada, but i do not give out locations normally, especially ones i was shown by friends such as this one.

Was just wondering, not looking to go anywhere just curious if it was Gabbs.   I was there once and found some very nice material but I have more opalized wood than I need since I don't tend to cut it.  Same here on locations,  I have spent a lot of time hunting for new locations and made the mistake a couple times of showing the wrong people and then those sites were gone.  I can still go to my Royal Mojave spot today and dig purple agate just because I have kept it close.
