I see a tornado.
« on: May 10, 2015, 11:52:39 AM »

I keep meaning to work a bit more on this one, but true to form I keep getting distracted away from it.  So I guess I had better go ahead and post it before I forget about it entirely.

This is a nice piece of genuine WA idunnoite that I found in my yard.  There's a few more slabs left in the rock, so if you're lucky, Teresa will take a shine to it and we'll see something good come from it.   The cab is 1.5"x.75" and stands 3/8" high.

Great color intensity. About 1.5 % iron in the green chert and about 8 in the red stained areas. Iron is an amazing element. If you have ever looked into the physics of iron as an atom you know how special it is.

Nice looking stone, sure glad it weren't a real tornado, there have been enough of those in the central plains already this spring. :nono:
