Couple finished cabs from this morning
« on: June 09, 2015, 05:38:10 PM »

Heres a couple I made this morning from stuff picked up outta franks yard while helping him do some cleanup a couple weeks back. He let me keep a few handfuls of bits an pieces of random rocks from all over the damned place that caught my eye for one reason or another, but mostly to try out cutting new materials. Thank you again so much Frank! For all the wonderful materials, more importantly the knowledge of stone cutting and polishing and even more so by being a wonderful friend and listening to my sorrows and being just there as if I was family. I'm truly super grateful for everything you have done for me eternally. Well enough emotional stuff heres some pretty things to look at. First is a very small round cab of amethyst quartz with some really cool inclusions of hematite(red globs) and what I assume is iron(black) and secondly my first copper mineral cab with a mix of azurite chrysocolla and malachite I believe. I found the quartz seemingly softer than imagined and very surprised by the mix piece as I assumed it would be chalky but alas a very nice hard and solid surprise this piece held. Seems it also has alot of iron in it..could be wrong on that.. Anyways hope y'all enjoy these here and happy cutting!! :-)

We'll all have to get together at Franks house one day and have a "frankfest", no need to bring rocks; CAYA
nice choices Gergis!!

Good work.

I want to come too.

Gregis I'm also appreciative of Frank's friendship.  He helped me through the most difficult time period  of my life, as a few members of this forum may know.   He is a strong and supportive friend.  Thank you Frank.   Since Frank is so great you know his wife has to be even better.  I attest to that.  Double thanks.

Yes both Karen and Frank are the best!  I remember going with them on mini hikes as they showed us a few sites in and around Anacortes WA.  Gorgeous area, but I enjoyed the company far more than the view.   :icon_sunny:
