Hi everyone, I thought I'd post the cabs I worked on this weekend. The sun made the pics a lot brighter than I thought it would, even though most of my back yard was in shade by this time; I had to take the pics at an angle to try to cut out the surface glare. I could have finished a couple more but the

flies were driving me

insane- there was an inordinate quantity of them out there, with at least 15 on or near me at all times.
These are all from rough Amanda wanted cabbed:
This one is ridiculously humungous and was very hard to squish onto my little pixie

A scrap piece salvaged from the slab that made the above cab. Pic seems a little blurry...

I tried to capture the metallic plumes in this as well as the druzy- this is bad ass material.

part of a set of Rhioolite she wanted :D I just invented a new name.

These cabs are from a could of slabs off a piece of Lepidolite I managed to swindle a coworker into letting me cut. The crystals in it were really big compared to the Lepidolite I am used to seeing so I wanted to see what it turned out like. It was easy to cab, although the smaller piece started out a lot larger but had a couple of nasty imperfections that surfaced as I ground down the face so I just cut them out; not the highest grade material in the world, but it is very sparkly in the sun!!! :D I have to let him choose his favorite and he's going to give it to his wife. I suppose I'll let him have both, I just wanted to work the material.
End cut

What's left of the second cut

I did sneak one of my own in- this is from an end cut of a small piece crazy lace I have around somewhere
