Slabbed out a rock from the unknown pile and cabbed a few pieces. I think it has merit, but no idea what it is.

The colors remind me of some of the northern California jaspers like stony creek.

Thanks.  It reminds me of the Cherry Creek jasper from China, but I'm sure thats not it.
Actually it acts more like a Rhyolite in that it fractures pretty easily and usually in a slight curve.

It's a pretty cab!  All the Rhyolite I've ever handled has been somewhat soft and sandy(ish), not hard and slick jasper or agate.

This material is not soft or sandy. But, the more I think about it I think it's a slightly different version of the Chinese Cherry Creek (or Red Creek). It looks very similar except for the color. I remember buying some rough in Tucson a few years back that was supposed to be Cherry Creek. I never cut it and I think this is it. Oh well thats what I get for not labeling stuff.
