I feel like a bit of a migrant from the old community; I was under the username Andere for a long time, but membership kept lapsing as I came and went due to school. But I'm trying hard to be back in one place (western Washington) now and trying to reconnect with my rocks too! I used to live in central Oregon, and have a sizable (for one kid) collection of random Oregon jasper, agate, fossils and other unusual specimens. All that is now housed in boxes in a basement, and as I have but a single tumbler with two 1.5 lb barrels my lapidary pursuits are still somewhat limited! But I'm glad to be back on the forums, and after being trapped in suburbia, back close to the field too. :)
My current hunting haunts are western Washington beaches, Point No Point in particular, as I've grown up visiting that one, but will be checking out other local beaches too. Beach pebbles do come in convenient sizes for the tumbler...
