Hello again!
« on: July 26, 2015, 02:32:42 PM »

I feel like a bit of a migrant from the old community; I was under the username Andere for a long time, but membership kept lapsing as I came and went due to school. But I'm trying hard to be back in one place (western Washington) now and trying to reconnect with my rocks too! I used to live in central Oregon, and have a sizable (for one kid) collection of random Oregon jasper, agate, fossils and other unusual specimens. All that is now housed in boxes in a basement, and as I have but a single tumbler with two 1.5 lb barrels my lapidary pursuits are still somewhat limited! But I'm glad to be back on the forums, and after being trapped in suburbia, back close to the field too. :)

My current hunting haunts are western Washington beaches, Point No Point in particular, as I've grown up visiting that one, but will be checking out other local beaches too. Beach pebbles do come in convenient sizes for the tumbler...

Welcome!  Good to see you!
The good news is, we don't do idle purges here, so no matter how long you might be gone, your login ID will be here waiting for you when you get back.
We all started this forum because of issues over on the other forum.
It's great to see old faces.
Pull up a chair, and show us your rocks.   :icon_sunny:

Hi, Nice to see you here. I remember the stone from Oregon that you collected and I cut for you. We collect a lot and if you like we can try to coordinate trips someday.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and yes, the constant ID will be nice! I try to not vanish, but sometimes it happens.
Lithic, these ones? I still have them! A few days ago I did a grand bead sort-out and found out I did not have enough black beads or cord to do what I want to do with them, so I'm making a supplies list. Can't wait to see if I can bring a vision into being with them. (And yes I would love to coordinate trips some time! Still getting used to the idea of planning something weeks out, and having a car again.)
