Hi all !
« on: January 16, 2016, 08:57:16 AM »

I've wandered over from another forum. Lots of familiar names here and more emoticons !!! I'm a long time rockhound thanks to my father who roamed all over looking for and bring home rocks. He developed a pretty good lot of stones and equipment to work it so I have a well equipped shop which is both lapidary and wood shop as I am a wood boat builder by trade and have always had the urge to create.  I've also acquired a life long collection of a friends geologist father that will keep me busy for a long time of cutting and polishing and trying to identify some really beautiful stuff. I primarily make pendants and am still experimenting with shapes, sizes and such. Working stone is fascinatingly fun !

Wahoo.... :occasion14:

Welcome to the forum Kent! That sure is a nice royal sahara jasper pendant piece. Nice orientation in the scene and design, looks very well thought out and executed. :-) Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Welcome to the forum, Kent!  Glad you wandered over.   :hello:

I've seen your work at the other place.  You do a really nice job on those pendants.  Feel free to post up any pics.  We all love looking at pictures!

Welcome Kent.  I'm a member at several other forums but I like this forum and only frequent here these days.  Its a slower pace but a great group of folks that hang out here.

Your pendant is beautiful.  And I'd love to see some of your woodwork.  My father is a woodworker and these days he primarily builds rocking chairs (which I've shared here in the past).  Wood and stone are my two favorite mediums for art.  I guess Mother Nature just makes the best stuff to work with.  We coax out the beauty, but the real magic comes from her.
