Could you imagine being able to collect enough petrified wood, slab it all up and shingle the sides of your whole house with polished slabs?  :dontknow: :LOLOL:

My Father had a masonry company and I worked for him when I was a teenager.  We did brick and stone work on large custom homes.  One big home we did in the mid 80s had a huge fireplace that we did entirely out of petrified wood.  It was about 15 feet wide at the base and extended all the way to the ceiling in a vaulted living room, maybe close to 20 feet high.  My Dad probably has photos of it if I ask him.  I can't remember the full story on where the homeowner had purchased that much petrified wood, but I remember it being something like 10 tons of it.  They just pulled up with a dumptruck and dumped it out.  I didn't think much of it at the time since I was used to working with large piles of all different kinds of rock on these big custom homes.

i had to arrange all my boxed of rock last night, i was baffled at how much wood was in them.
all oregon carbon and alot of natural looking wood. some arizona mixed in.

i sure have alot of wood, most of which i dont want to cut since it looks great as specimens. hand size stones.
I may post a bunch for sale since i will probably never do anything with it.

I just returned home from Oregon with about 300 lbs of pet Myrtle wood off Bandon beaches. Most pieces are too big to tumble, I wonder what can be done with the pieces 5-10 lbs+ each.

A few years back I visited a farm in North Dakota that had piles and piles of petrified wood that had been picked from the fields. More wood than I could have imagined.

I question whether or not the walls would be able to support their own weight. LOL
