Diamond pacific titan pump repair
« on: August 04, 2016, 10:30:22 AM »

Hi, I have an older Titan with a single pump and it started pumping erratically. I got a new pump kit from Kingsley North which looks old as the hills, but I guess there isn't as much call for the older single pump kits as there once was. I took my old belt off which had a very tight fit and when I installed the new belt it isn't as tight as the old one which I find curious. I hate to put the whole thing back together and have a belt problem. Has anybody else encountered such a situation? I sort of prefer my old variable speed water fed Raytech 8" machine and use it for coarse grinding and final polish, but I got such a great deal on the Titan I just couldn't pass it up and have come to like it for 600-1400 grit polishing. Also, the kit has leather washers of two different colors and no instructions, does anybody know if one leather washer or the other goes on top? One more question, I have replaced a couple of wheels with true 8" soft wheels and am having a hard time keeping the wheels from hitting the top housing. This seems to be a problem on the left side, not the right side. Should I just try putting a little spacer on the top housing mounting studs?
