Teri's Texas Rockhunts
« on: October 07, 2016, 12:09:16 PM »

Hi all

Is anyone else going rockhounding with Teri at the Singleton, Walker and South Larremore ranches starting the 19th? I know Teri has some hunts going on before that, but I think the big hunting starts the 19th at the Singleton. I know irockhound was trying to make some of them.  I'll be at the Singleton for 4 days and Walker for 4, and might jump down to the Stillwell for a couple days. If you come to the hunts, say "HI"... :occasion14:

Re-injured an old disc and couldn't make it.  I am hoping that it gets better so I can make a couple of days on the Singleton next month.  I sure miss getting onto the Walker though.  Half for the material and half for just sitting around the campfire with Brian.  I hope Walker happens in the spring so I can get back to the ledge I got the really big Plume Nodules from last year.  Hope you are having a nice trip.

Steve, sorry to hear about the back. I know how that feels. I blew out a disc on a trip to Graveyard Point and the Owyhees a few years back. Too much rock in the buckets...

Had a great time and collected lots of great stuff. I'll try to take some pics and post in the next few days. There were 40 people on the first day at the Walker, then it slowly shrank in numbers from there. Brian said that things look good for an April hunt. Might be able to camp again (none this time). The Singleton was fantastic and I even collected a bucket of good material from the South Larremore, which gives up it's agates grudgingly. I plan to go back again in April of 2017, health and wife permitting.  :LOLOL:
