Moving to Canada
« on: November 12, 2016, 08:01:06 PM »

So it has come to pass.
We figured out my In-laws have been hiding how bad their health really is.  We were talking with them on the phone and they let it slip that they weren't in good health - something Peter and I had been wondering about because they had said other things in the past that made us kind of think something was up.  So Peter is looking for a job back up in BC where his family lives, and as soon as he finds a job, we are putting this house here in AZ on the market and heading north.

So all you Washington and BC folks, I will be near you again!   :icon_sunny:

Good luck on the move, & prayers for the inlaws.

Best wishes.   I hope you are looking forward to living in BC even though there will be burdens. I absolutely love BC, especially Vancouver Island. When I lived in Oregon I would vacation there twice a year.

good luck,  Neal

I love BC, it's gorgeous having visited several times and resided in the house my Husband had there before we sold it on our move down here to AZ.
We will be moving into Abbotsford first with my in-laws, then when we go to buy a house, probably looking at Mission because it is on a train line for Peter to get into Vancouver for work.

A hour over the border from Abbotsford are a half dozen of my favorite jade spots. I am sorry for the news but very excited to have you back up here.

I'm excited and stressed at the same time.  I was really hoping to not be moving again.  However my in-laws aren't getting younger and their health is a huge concern, and I do enjoy spending time with my in-laws as well.  I'm excited to possibly go hounding for Jade or just to go hiking in the mountains.  It will be fun.

It's a stunning area. I hope the move goes smoothly for you!

I spent 6 weeks in BC last fall (traveling from stem to stern in the central and southern half) and found it beautiful, enlightened, and a recreational delight.  The large area around Abbotsford was pretty sophisticated and tempting as a alternative living site - alas the winter is better in New Mexico.  Best wishes in the move.  Taking care of family is an admirable and essential role for many.

I'm finally back to the board after a long absence, and I see that you are moving from Chandler! Any chance we could meet for coffee or whatever before you go?

I haven't lived in Chandler in two years.  I've been living in Queen Creek where we bought a house in 2014.
Peter still works at Microchip, look him up.
If you need a place for Thanksgiving, I've got room at the table.
As for meeting up, we can do that.  Right now I have family in town, so a meet up right now is out.
