Moving Day
« on: October 16, 2014, 08:05:39 PM »

One of our members , Gergis , was moving today so Lithicstrings and I went to help move his rock. We are talking just over a ton of rough so it took a bit to load it. The highlight of the day was watching the ancient one , yours truly , and Gergis move a big jasper boulder into the truck. This boulder is rumored to have hospitalized someone in the past who was moving it so we not only had to contend with about 300 pounds of jasper but an apparent hex also. Now since it was Gergis's boulder and he allegedly had been the boulder's first victim I decided it would be wise for me not to  actually touch the boulder so I suggested we picked it up with a folded tarp. It was fairly simple and I apparently did not touch the boulder and will not be a victim of the hex. At this very moment Gergis is saving up to buy dynamite so that we can blow it up so it fits in the saw.
I should have known it was going to be a strange day when we saw this rainbow lying on the ground in a clear cut. Hangover maybe?

good call on the big jasper boulder, they're known to do unexpected things to the unwary. The rainbow is just tired, it's had a long hard summer; now go find where it hid and grab the pot of gold LOL

Note to self:  Do not collect boulders of rock so big that you cannot move them with Hubby's help.

Good to hear no one got hurt today trying to move that huge thing!

I'm not sure if the thought of blowing up a rock or seeing an absolutely stunning rainbow picture has me more impressed!!!

I hope they are not traumatized by the move. Hopefully they now have a permanent home to enjoy. Beautiful family by the way.

That boulder is going to be the death of us all. Getting it collected in the first place was one of the toughest picks of the year for me, and there were three of us and a steel wagon. Of course, it was twice the size back then... Up hill both ways too.
