My body + unseen hole in the ground + Dry desert hard packed ground = whole lotta hurt!

I walked outside today to water my plants.  During one of the last rain storms Peter had left one of his massive size 14 footprints in the mud, which dried that way.  I hit said footprint with the side of my foot, ankle buckled, I went down, hit my right side and partly turned.  Home alone to boot.  Managed to get myself up, got inside, cleaned off the areas where I saw blood.  I have a 6inch by 3 inch area of my right knee and lower leg that is in pretty sad shape.  Cleaned with alcohol and threw on bandaids, changed my shirt then grumbled about Peter's big feet and went back about my business.

I'll be OK.  I'm a bit scraped up, and my back is a tad sore, but I'll be OK.
I did take pain killers earlier and laid down for a nap only to get woke by Peter calling me on his cell on his way home.
I rubbed cocoa butter into my legs tonight, especially around the scraped up area to facilitate healing and keeping my skin from drying out to much.

Aren't you glad it was just a footprint and not a snake? Get healed soon :hello2:

Well after giving my body a couple days I'm discovering that my right knee is NOT happy with me and when I go to get up out of a chair or bend it I feel pain in the knee.  :sad5:
I'm hoping it passes soon and that I didn't damage my knee.  It doesn't hurt when I'm walking, just bending it and putting the pressure of getting up and sitting down is giving me problems.

If it is swollen at all it is quite important to use a proper icing regimen so the blood can get to the damaged tissue. Walking is great to increase the blood flow and help healing. I talk from experience having had major knee surgery in my twenties and a lifetime of weakness and pain.

It is thankfully not swollen.  Amen to that.  I'm going to keep it mobile though.   :icon_sunny:

Maybe some sort of brace to help the knee out with support?  Sounds painful.  Glad it wasn't any worse.

Happy to report my knee is feeling fine, scrapes are healing up good.  While I now and then get a touch of discomfort in my knee when I go to stand up or sit down, it's nothing bad, and I liken it to what I had to deal with back east with arthritis pain.  So I'll be fine.  Obviously if it gets worse I'll see a doctor, but for now I'll be fine.   :headbang:

Good to hear Amanda. Wish it was like when we were children, fall down and get up running.

Up until a few years ago I could still do that.  Then everything went south!  I swear I hit 35 and that was the end of that.
