How do you guys feel about wheel size for cutting opals?

I'm building a machine and trying to figure out if I want 4" or 6" wheels. The prices i'm looking at are pretty close to being the same for either size for Diamond Pacific wheels.

It doesn't make a bit of difference to me.  I cut on a Genie - 6" wheels.  I think you'd like the 6" wheels better, though, because if you cut other material, the larger wheel surface is helpful.

I frequently jump to a Silicon Carbide belt after the hard diamond wheels. I go to a broken in 400 grit SC wet belt to remove any scratches in jasper, agate and opals. The wide belt really takes the work out of getting a really nice shaped stone. It also saves the Nova wheels from a ton of wear.
