Diy lapidary equipment questions
« on: October 29, 2018, 07:35:00 AM »

I'm working on plans for building my own cabber.  I'm going to use 2 steel fire extinguishers laying horizontal with the tops pointing inward.  I found a double shaft motor online for angiid price.  I'll need shaft extensions and pillow bearings and that's as far as I've gotten so far. I've attached a picture to reference.  What I'm wondering is. How do the diamond wheels attach?  Does it involve a press of some kind?

The basis of a cab machine is a threaded rod  supported by pillow block bearings. The wheels are attached to the threaded rod by compression , flanges and nuts on the shaft.
