unusual Graveyard Point cabochon
« on: November 04, 2018, 02:48:31 PM »

I mined a lot of material on a ridge not far from the main plume agate beds. It ranged from colorful agate as this one to brecciated jasper. I will post some more in the future of the unusual patterns. This was my favorite and is being gifted next week.  IT is not rare by any means. I have found similar pieces in road beds and half buried in the soils. Finding good cutting material is difficult as the majority of the material is not fit for cutting. I did find evidence of several abandoned claims on the ridge which ran for several mines.

Very nice!  I used to find similar pieces as float when hunting GYP a long time ago.

awesome piece!
Have you looked at it close under magnification yet?
Those mosses in it are going to baffle you.

That's a very pretty piece.  I'm amazed out how something like that could form.  Almost looks like a worm casting.
Congratulations on another beautiful cab. :hello2:

That’s amazing. It almost looks like a fire snake or the tail of a dragon swirling around in there.
