Anybody know what this is?
A friend of mine picked it up at a yard sale in Corvallis Oregon.
I've never seen obsidian like this anywhere else.

Interesting mix of the mahogany and pumpkin colors. No way to be positive about the source from appearance in a photo, however. Could be from an open area such as Glass Buttes or Davis Creek, or from now closed deposits such as Obsidian Ridge, etc. OSU in Corvallis does have a program documenting the chemical signatures of obsidian from around the west.

I've never seen an obsidian that looks quite like that.  Very interesting and really pretty!
