Jade arrow head
« on: March 20, 2020, 04:54:42 PM »

Another one I finished recently, it would have been my entry in our Aussie national gem show in the carving section but it was cancelled due to obvious reasons, I gifted it to my friend that owns the mine the jade comes from.

That is amazing work!  You carved out all those grooves?  How in the world did you get them to be so perfectly even?   :Worthy:

Thanks for the great comments, I marked out all the groves before I started, carved with my foredom with a diamond point, then hand sanded it with silicon carbide course grits-then from 1200 grit up on diamond to 100K, then polished on Linde A.

It works out so well. What does the Linde a do after using 100k diamond? I understand it's better since the polish is so great, but why. Thanks

Thanks for the great comments. I normally finish on 100K diamond but the linde A makes it even higher polish-strange as linde A is .5 micron, 50K but it breaks down as you polish.

Gorgeous carving.  Do you have any Youtube videos of you carving?  I'd love to see your process.
