I never needed a reason for 'social distancing'.  Never even considered that what I like to do would be thought of as such.  But hey, why let a good pandemic go to waste?

Yep here's my version:
Had some amazing solo hikes recently. I hike alone all the time anyway, now it's just more socially acceptable. And necessary to one's sanity.

  Yep, I am jealous...  beautiful place to live.

    My self isolation is a bit different. I ride my bike 17 miles a day into the hills. This is because I need to lose another 30 pounds. The roads are very empty these days. I start in the flat lands that have hazel nut orchards, vineyards and farms. Then I ride into the hills in the pictures. Lots of critters, rain and quiet.... It seems like it is uphill both ways.  I am an hour SW of Portland.

Your countryside up there is awesome Erika!  Theres nothing wrong with forests and greenery but I'm a total sucker for wide open spaces where you can see for miles and hike in any direction, no trail needed.  I'm a desert rat at heart.  And also a solo hiker/camper.  Sitting around a campfire with no other human for miles and nothing but the coyotes and stars to keep me company...thats my church right there.

The sunrise and sunsets in the desert are truly special, the dust in the air turns the sun red.  I will always remember one such sunrise in the Kalahari . Arizona ones are nice too. Rest of the time mountains and mist for me.

I agree!!  I just love the solitude.  I was camping in Utah and was cooking some grub when I heard a galloping toward my camp.  Looked out and this big male Antelope came screeching to a halt about 50 ft away, turned and galloped off.  The Milky Way was over the mesas near by and just silence after he left but beautiful and calming.
