This has to be the most photographed cab/pendant on the planet. I have been trying to get the best close up photos I can get of this stone. All of the red in this stone (except for the fortification looking areas) is made up of millions of little spots. Some kind of super micro orbicular jasper/agate.

The fortification in the circle is only 1/8th of an inch long in real life. With my camera I can not tell what the magnification is but on super macro I can focus down to about one inch which must give me a greater than one to one. It is just an eight meg point and shoot that is at least six years old. Did I mention that I love this camera. I bought it refurbished before I went to China so I would not have to carry my bigger SLR. It has been very good to me.

The groove cutter that I have (new one on the way) is too thick and I do not have wire big enough to fill the gap so I am going to have to redo this wrap.

This gives you an idea what it will look like down the road sometime. Nobody would probably notice but a close look does not look real spiffy. Next try I am going to use a three wire twist and see what happens. I have a lot of smaller wire to get rid of before I buy new larger wire.
