I forgot to add, the weight of a pulley is irrelevant.  Once it is spinning, it adds nothing to the power required.  If the load is too great for a 2hp motor, something is wrong.  Is the cut getting enough oil?  Are the bearings free?  How hard is the carriage pushing?  Is the blade speed correct?
