Antler beads & buttons
« on: May 11, 2025, 12:40:26 PM »

So lately i picked up a lazer engraver on Amazon.
I have been tinkering for a couple years though making elk and deer buttons with antler.
For say hat bands, tribal medicine bags, etc.

After burning a deep image of a cross into a button of elk antler, i purchased a big bottle of CA GLUE to stabilize the buttons i cut.

Seeing a small bottle of alleged turquoise crush,  i decided ty try an inlay.

Just sharing my latest creation.
Phish.

Probably a dyed Howlite.  My neighbor wanted some cheap Turquoise looking material to put in some coasters he was making his daughter so I heat dyed some howlite for him with similar results, dye went surface deep and any sanding showed the white of the howlite.
