ISO Gemology Microscope

Hey there! I'm asking for advice from you guys, especially the experts.

(ISO) IN SEARCH OF: a sound and repetitive Gemology Microscope.

Needs:

to be for a beginner, expanding my knowledge 


to be within my budget $800 -$1200

to be for a beginner, expanding my knowledge

to have some bells and whistles. I plan to buy one ONLY microscope and use for future studying, etc.
 
to be a reasonable price, I will be ordering other gem equipment soon

Try asking at local universities what happens to their surplus equipment. It's a long shot, but I did build a decent stereoscope from parts I got this way.

Another option is ebay.
