This is about 50 lbs of our best , uncut as yet. We have  poppy jaspers that book end the continent and I saw a small sample from Panama last year so we just need some from the high arctic  to have the continent surrounded with poppy jasper. This is not surprising as poppy jasper is found in faults and are associated with ophiolite sequences which are found primarily on the active edges of continents.

How exciting.  I can see why people are lined up to get some.  Good luck hunting for more.

Frank, do you get a kickback from the search engines or what? Okay - so are Ophiolites from a bit deeper than Variolites? I just had fun reading about Josephine Ophiolites.

-Edit-

Yeah, Frank, whenever you see this and feel up to it I'll look forward to hearing from you. Just saw the other post about your surgery tomorrow. Wishing you the best, and a speedy recovery!

That's cool looking material. I would enjoy cabbing up some of it.

Thanks, friend.
I've searched the area the boy said the rock came from and found no more of it.
It was a large pile of rocks by a bridge abutment.  From a quarry that I have not yet located. When we thaw from the record snowfall, I'll hunt some more.
I'm told this has been the most snow in 40 yrs.

We just got 5"+ of snow yesterday. But I don't think that it will be long before I have to mow the lawn.

Yeah, I'm not dealing well with having come up from Texas. I've been hibernating (haven't left the house) since December...LOL, Really

One good thing though, I'm told that when it melts, the Canadian Nightcrawler worms are All over the ground from all the melt off.  Fishing will be good~!!!
